If you are seriously trying to lose weight, chances are having tried several different programs. Many of you are still not getting down to its desired or ideal weight. One big reason may be that you are having problems with a small molecule.
Iodine is the basis for the extremely important thyroid hormone in your body. This hormone regulates your metabolism to your digestion. Because usually slowly creeps up on you is very common not to realize that there has been a change in your energy level, memory, menstrual periods and texture of the skin. You could even lose her hair on it.
The lack of enough thyroid hormone in your body is called Hypothyroidism. There are several things that it does hypothyroidism cause weight increase. First, it lowers your basic metabolic rate and overall metabolism. That is the rate you use up energy. What this basically means is that the normal muscle tone is lost and muscles tend to be much relaxed than normal. Using their internal organs are also affected muscles. You probably will notice that on a change in bowel habits. You tend to constipated. Just what you needed!

Toned muscles need to continue to maintain their connections to the appropriate position. So are usually always a bit tight. This uses calories (yes!). Obviously, when they are more relaxed than normal, you tend to gain weight.
Secondly, the lack of thyroid hormone will make you lazy. At least that is my excuse.

Dr. Oliver Sacks (made famous in the movie Awakenings) describes a man who had to be helped out of bed in the morning. We were then fed and taken to a chair in the corner. In the afternoon he was taken back to bed. During the day he does not even speak. This happened day after day for years! Finally, for some reason, he ended up in the doctor’s office and was found to be severely hypothyroid. He returned to normal with treatment, but even he did not remember all those years where he was a zombie.
If you suspect you might have hypothyroidism consider these symptoms: dry skin, menstrual periods of brittle nails, constipation, irregular or heavy (if you're male, you probably won’t develop it) feeling tired and weak skin, cold, thick, keeping the water or thin hair. Any or all of these may occur.

You have an increased chance of getting this condition if you have a swelling in front of your neck called a goiter, diabetes, patches of light skin (not always, but there is a specific condition that causes it also affects the thyroid ), iodine deficiency and some medications. Some women develop this complication of pregnancy.
If you always buy salt without iodine, there is a slight chance you may develop hypothyroidism as a result of the lack of iodine. Remember, is part of the iodine molecule of thyroid hormone. Without iodine, your body can not make the hormone.
When you think you may have hypothyroidism, you should see your doctor for a blood test. One thing that most doctors won’t tell you is that you need another way to feel pretty good during the test. There is a syndrome called Sick Euthyroid condition that causes low levels of thyroid hormone when you are sick. But hormone levels can return to normal when you get right. Thus, it is best to get the levels checked when you get the well to take a test accuracy.
Assuming that you have guessed the right, your doctor may prescribe a supplement of thyroid hormone that you get the feeling better. The only problem at this point is that it is often difficult to get the correct amount on your system. But help with their doctors that should decrease fairly rapidly.

The good news is that once your thyroid is in control, you will feel much better, have more energy and are back on track with your weight control.
